World Steel supplies fabricated structural steel and pre-engineered buildings to South America, with references in Guyana.
South American markets each have their own steel codes, most of them derived from AISC practice – for example ABNT NBR 8800 in Brazil, NCh 427 in Chile and Norma E.090 in Peru. Guyana and Suriname, linked to the Caribbean through CARICOM, commonly work with US (IBC / AISC / ASCE 7) or British / Eurocode design bases.
