Southern Steel Sheet (SSSC – Ton Phuong Nam)

Southern Steel Sheet Co., Ltd. (SSSC), known in Vietnam as Ton Phuong Nam, is a joint venture between Vietnam Steel Corporation (VNSteel) and Japan's Sumitomo Corporation, founded in 1995. It is reported as the first company to introduce continuous galvanizing and colour-coating technology in Vietnam. Its two plants in Dong Nai operate a galvanizing line, an aluminium-zinc coating line and two colour-coating lines. Products are marketed under the Ton Phuong Nam – SSSC name, and galvanized alloy sheet under the Ton Viet Nhat name.

Coated sheet is used in pre-engineered buildings for roof and wall sheeting, standing seam panels, trims, flashings, gutters and downspouts, and galvanized strip for cold-formed secondary members. SSSC reports manufacturing to Japanese Industrial Standards: JIS G 3302 for hot-dip zinc-coated sheet, JIS G 3321 for aluminium-zinc coated sheet, and JIS G 3312 and G 3322 for pre-painted sheet. When an export project specifies another product standard, such as ASTM A653/A792, EN 10346 or AS 1397, the equivalence of grade, coating mass and paint system has to be confirmed with the producer before ordering.
