Cylindrical or mortise?

Cylindrical locks install in a simple bored preparation and suit most doors. Mortise locks sit in a pocket in the door edge, are stronger and offer more functions – the choice for main entrances and maximum-duty doors.

Grade 1 cylindrical locks are cycle-tested to 800,000 operations; free-wheeling clutches let the outside lever turn without stressing the mechanism when locked, so forced turning cannot break the lock.

Functions

Every series offers the standard functions – passage, privacy, office/entry, classroom, storeroom, store door, communicating and more – so one family of locks covers the whole building and keys to one master key system.

Hardware set for one opening — Lockset, deadbolt, hinges, closer and trim on one opening.

Fit

Locks fit the standard ANSI 161 cylindrical and 86 mortise preparations of WS hollow metal doors, 2¾ in backset, 1⅜ – 2 in doors, with ASA strikes.
