- Recommended spans for 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 7.5 kPa
- Safe loads U (kPa) and C (kN/m) for spans 600–2000 mm
- Deflection at the design load
- Nominal weights for every type
- Pitch 30, 40 and 60 mm tables
How to use the tables
- Choose the design load (UDL) for the area – 2.5 kPa maintenance platforms up to 7.5 kPa heavy equipment areas.
- Measure the clear span of the bearing bars between supports.
- Pick the lightest WS code whose recommended span is equal to or greater than the clear span, or whose safe load U at that span is at least the design load.
- Check concentrated loads C (kN per metre of panel width) and the deflection limit set by the designer.
- For serrated bars apply the serration factors.
Values are indicative for carbon steel grating (SS400 / A36), single simply-supported panels with banded ends, and are not a substitute for the project design. U = safe uniform load (kPa), C = safe concentrated line load across the panel (kN/m), D = deflection (mm).

자주 묻는 질문
What do U, C and D mean?
U is the safe uniformly distributed load in kPa, C the safe concentrated load across the panel in kN per metre of width, and D the deflection in mm at that load.
Can I use the tables for design?
They are for selection and budgeting. The project designer confirms loads, spans, deflection limits and the code; our engineers can provide a calculation for the selected panels.
Why are pitch 40 types lighter but weaker?
Fewer bearing bars per metre of width – about 25 % less steel than pitch 30 for the same bar size – so the safe load drops in proportion.
