What ISO 3834 is

ISO 3834 defines quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials. It treats welding as a special process – the quality of a weld cannot be fully verified afterwards, so it has to be built in by controlling people, procedures, equipment, materials and inspection. The series has three levels: Part 2 comprehensive, Part 3 standard and Part 4 elementary. Part 2 is the highest level and is suitable for welded steel structures from the simplest to the most complex.

World Steel's welding quality management system has been assessed by Bureau Veritas Vietnam and found to be in accordance with EN ISO 3834-2:2021 for the manufacturing, supplying and installation of steel structure products and pre-engineered steel buildings (certificate INY-CER/23/1056 Rev.0, initial certification 27 October 2023, subject to annual re-evaluation).
