EJOT
German fastening technology group founded in 1922 in Bad Berleburg, producing building fasteners including self-drilling screws for metal cladding.
EJOT was founded in 1922 as Adolf Böhl GmbH & Co. KG, a screw and nail manufacturer in Bad Berleburg, Germany, where the group is still headquartered. EJOT serves the construction, automotive and electronics industries, and its building fasteners division supplies self-drilling and self-tapping screws, insulation fixings and anchors for building envelopes. A representative office for EJOT building fasteners is listed in Ho Chi Minh City.
In a pre-engineered building, cladding fasteners determine whether the roof and walls stay attached and watertight. Self-drilling screws fix trapezoidal sheeting and trims to cold-formed purlins and girts; the drill point must suit the thickness of the substructure, and the thread form must match steel or timber substrates. Sealing washers with vulcanised EPDM provide the seal on through-fastened roofs. Fastener material is selected for the corrosivity of the environment and for compatibility with aluminium-zinc coated and pre-painted sheet; austenitic stainless steel fasteners are used in severe environments. Fastener spacing in edge and corner zones is governed by wind uplift and by the tested pull-out and pull-over resistances published by the manufacturer.
