What ISO 45001 covers
ISO 45001:2018 is the international standard for occupational health and safety management. It requires hazard identification and risk assessment, legal compliance, worker consultation and participation, operational controls, emergency preparedness, incident investigation and continual improvement.
Steel fabrication and erection involve significant hazards – lifting heavy members, hot work and welding fumes, abrasive blasting, painting, working at height and site erection. Each is controlled by procedures, training, permits and inspection.
World Steel's certificate
World Steel Construction Joint Stock Company holds certificate of registration no. 721070, issued by Guardian Independent Certification Ltd (GICG), confirming that its occupational health and safety management system conforms to ISO 45001:2018 for: construction; design, manufacture, supply and installing of pre-engineered steel buildings and steel structures. The certificate was first issued on 12 September 2023.
On site, World Steel's erection procedures follow the site safety for erection principles, and permanent access products such as guardrails, fixed ladders and platforms are designed for safe use and maintenance.
What it means for clients
Main contractors and owners increasingly pre-qualify suppliers on safety. A certified OH&S management system means method statements, risk assessments, trained crews and incident reporting are already in place when World Steel fabricates in its own factory or supervises erection on your site.
