- Load immediately – no cure time
- Wedge, sleeve, undercut, screw anchors
- Cracked concrete versions (ETA / ESR)
- Zinc, HDG or stainless
- Removable screw anchors
- Through-fixing installation
When to use
Mechanical anchors suit fixings that must be loaded at once, temporary works and light to medium loads with generous edge distance. Expansion anchors push against the hole wall, so they need more edge distance and spacing than bonded anchors.
Types
| Type | How it holds | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Wedge (stud) anchor | Torque pulls a cone into an expansion clip | Common, through-fixing |
| Sleeve anchor | Sleeve expands along its length | Concrete and masonry |
| Undercut anchor | Mechanical interlock with an undercut | Highest mechanical loads |
| Concrete screw | Thread cuts into the concrete | Removable, close edges |
