KCC Corporation
South Korean paint and building materials group founded in 1958, producing industrial, marine and protective coatings, with a paint factory in Vietnam.
KCC Corporation was founded in 1958 and is headquartered in Seoul. It is a major producer of paints and building materials in South Korea and also manufactures silicones and other industrial materials. KCC has operated in Vietnam since 2005 and opened a paint factory in Long Thanh Industrial Park, Dong Nai, in 2009, producing industrial, epoxy, marine and offshore, container, automotive, coil (tole), decorative and floor coatings.
Two KCC product areas are relevant to pre-engineered buildings. Industrial protective coatings – primers, epoxy intermediates and polyurethane finishes – are applied to blast-cleaned primary frames, crane runway beams and exposed structural members, with the system selected according to ISO 12944 corrosivity categories and durability. Coil coatings for steel sheet (tole paints) are applied on continuous coil-coating lines to produce the pre-painted steel used for roof and wall sheeting. Floor coatings may be used on mezzanine and slab surfaces. As with any coating, compatibility between primer and topcoat, surface preparation grade, dry film thickness and curing conditions must follow the manufacturer's data and the project specification.
