A specialist fabricator for the Australian market

Australian builders and engineers need more than a low price per tonne: they need steel that passes inspection the first time, arrives in the order it is erected and comes with the documents the certifier asks for. World Steel is organised around that – one fabricator responsible for detailing, material, fabrication, coating, inspection, packing and shipping, certified to AS/NZS 5131 for Construction Category 3.

Because every stage runs inside one quality system, you control quality and programme through one contact and one set of reports instead of coordinating mills, detailers, fabricators, coaters and forwarders separately.

WS modular homes

Steel modular buildings, finished in the factory

WS modular homes are steel structures first: a galvanised steel module, 12.0 × 4.5 × 3.1 m, built on jigs in the same certified plant as our structural steel, then completed with envelope, bathroom pod, services and finishes before it ships.

For Australia each project is engineered and documented to the NCC and the site's wind, bushfire and corrosion conditions, so your Australian engineer and building certifier have what they need for approval. Your local builder prepares footings and connections while the modules are produced.

FAQ

Questions fréquentes

Is World Steel certified to AS/NZS 5131?

Yes. World Steel is certified to AS/NZS 5131 for Construction Category CC3, which covers most building, industrial and infrastructure structures in Australia. The certificate is published on our certifications page.

Can you supply ACRS-certified steel?

Yes. Where the specification requires it, we procure material from ACRS-certified mills and keep full traceability from mill certificate to piece mark.

Which welding standard do you use for Australian projects?

AS/NZS 1554.1 (SP or GP category as specified), with welding quality management certified to ISO 3834-2.

Do you do the shop drawings and connection details?

Yes. We model in Tekla and issue approval, shop and erection drawings for review by your engineer; connection design follows the engineer of record's requirements.

How is quality controlled when the steel is fabricated in Vietnam?

Through an inspection and test plan agreed before fabrication, with hold and witness points your inspector can attend in person or by video, weekly progress reports and a pre-shipment inspection. All records go into the handover dossier.

Can you deliver in erection sequence?

Yes. Fabrication is released and packed by erection sequence or zone, and every bundle is marked so the site can unload in the order it builds.

What duty applies to structural steel from Vietnam?

Fabricated structural steel (HS 7308.90) enters duty-free under AANZFTA, CPTPP or RCEP with valid proof of origin; the MFN rate is 5 %. GST of 10 % applies. Use the landed cost calculator for an estimate – we confirm the position with each quotation.

Can WS modular homes be approved in Australia?

Each project is engineered and documented to the NCC and the site's conditions so your Australian engineer and building certifier can assess and approve it. Planning and building approval are obtained locally for each site.
