Consommables de soudage

Kobelco (Kobe Steel) welding

Welding consumables and robotic welding systems business of Kobe Steel (Japan), with production companies across Asia.

The welding business of Kobe Steel, Ltd. (KOBELCO) develops and manufactures welding consumables, welding robots and welding power sources. Its group companies produce covered electrodes, solid wires and flux-cored wires in Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Europe, with sales companies in the Americas, India and Europe. Products reach the Vietnamese market through distributors.

Welding is the main joining process in the fabrication of pre-engineered building frames. Web-to-flange joints of tapered built-up members are usually welded by submerged arc welding (SAW) or gas-shielded flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), while end plates, stiffeners, base plates and cleats are welded with FCAW or solid-wire gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and covered electrodes are used for repairs and site work. Consumables must be classified to the filler-metal standard referenced by the welding code – for example AWS A5 specifications under AWS D1.1, or ISO classifications under EN 1090-2 and AS/NZS 1554 – and qualified in the fabricator's welding procedure specifications. Matching strength, toughness at the required test temperature and diffusible hydrogen level are the key selection criteria.

Produits utilisés pour les PEB et les structures métalliques

  • Flux-cored wires – FCAW fillet and groove welds on frames and connections
  • Solid wires – GMAW and robotic welding
  • Submerged arc wires and fluxes – automatic web-to-flange welds
  • Covered electrodes – manual metal arc welding and repairs
  • Welding robots and power sources – automated fabrication

Au Vietnam

Kobelco welding consumables are supplied in Vietnam through local distributors; the Kobelco welding group lists production companies in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and elsewhere, none in Vietnam.
