What it is

Roof and wall sheets are fixed to purlins and girts with self-drilling screws that drill, tap and seal in one operation. The bonded EPDM washer seals the hole; the drill point is chosen for the purlin thickness.

World Steel supplies screws with the roof and wall sheeting and calculates the quantity from the sheet layout and the wind-zone fixing pattern.

Corrosion class

Coastal and industrial sites need class 4 coatings or stainless steel; class 3 is common elsewhere. The screw must outlast the sheet coating.
