What it is
EN 14399 defines preloadable structural bolting assemblies sold and CE marked as a set: bolt, nut and washers from one manufacturer and lot. System HR has a long thread and full-strength nut; system HV (common in Germany) has a shorter thread and relies on a controlled nut stripping mode. They must not be mixed.

Tightening by the torque method, the combined method, HRC bolts or DTIs per EN 1090-2. The k-class (K0, K1, K2) printed on the box tells the installer which methods the lot is qualified for.
Slip-resistant connections
Categories B and C (slip-resistant) use preloaded 8.8 or 10.9 assemblies with a controlled faying surface class – World Steel masks or treats the contact surfaces in the shop to the class on the drawings.

Questions fréquentes
Can I use an HR nut on an HV bolt?
No. HR and HV are separate systems – bolt, nut and washers must come from the same EN 14399 set and lot.
