  • Single or double girder
  • Cantilevers on one or two sides
  • Rail-mounted, with cable reel or conductor
  • Outdoor execution: wind, storm locks, IP65
  • Hydropower and special gantries

What it is

A gantry crane carries its girders on legs that run on rails at ground level, so no building or runway is needed. Gantries serve stock yards, precast and pipe yards, steel and timber yards, ports and hydropower intakes. Cantilevers on one or both sides extend the hook reach beyond the legs to load trucks or reach a second bay.

Types

  • Single girder gantry – A-frame legs, underhung hoist; light to medium loads.
  • Double girder gantry – box girders, trolley hoist between the girders; heavy loads.
  • Gantry with cantilever on one or two sides – loading beyond the legs.
  • Hydropower gantries – intake and spillway gate gantries with special hoists.

Outdoor design

Outdoor gantries are designed for wind in service and out of service, with rail clamps or storm anchors, weather-protected electrics (IP65 and up) and corrosion protection suited to the site.

Duty group

FEM and ISO duty groups for cranes and hoists
Duty groups – FEM 9.511 and ISO 4301.

Vietnam: cranes are designed, manufactured and inspected to TCVN 4244:2005 and the lifting-equipment safety regulation QCVN 07:2012/BLĐTBXH, with technical inspection before use.

Questions fréquentes

Do gantry cranes need a building?

No – the legs run on ground rails, which suits outdoor yards and sites where the building cannot carry a crane.
