World Steel supplies structural steel and steel buildings to New Zealand, designed to NZS 3404 and NZS 1170.5 and fabricated to AS/NZS 5131 (certified CC3).
New Zealand designs steel structures to NZS 3404 with actions to AS/NZS 1170 and earthquake actions to NZS 1170.5, under the New Zealand Building Code. High seismicity means ductile design and careful connection detailing are standard practice.
Fabrication and erection follow AS/NZS 5131, for which World Steel is certified to CC3, with welding to AS/NZS 1554.1. Many New Zealand specifications also call up the Steel Fabrication Certification (SFC) scheme – we confirm this requirement at tender stage.
