One supplier for the crane and the steel
A crane is only as good as the runway and the building that carry it. World Steel designs the crane, its wheel loads, the runway beams, brackets and the steel frame together – so deflections, clearances and fatigue are checked once, and the crane fits the building on the first lift.
Girders, end carriages, trolleys and runway beams are fabricated in our structural steel plant; hoists, drives and electrics are assembled and function-tested before shipment, then installed, load-tested and handed over with training and a maintenance plan.

Every part has a job
Runway beams and rails, end carriages with buffers, the main girders, the hoist and trolley, conductor rails for long and cross travel, the control panel and pendant or radio – each part is selected for the capacity, span and duty of your crane.
On double girder cranes a walkway with handrail gives safe access for maintenance of the trolley, conductors and drives.

Duty first, then capacity
A crane lifting 10 t twice a day and one lifting 10 t every few minutes are different machines. We select hoist, wheels, drives and girders for the duty group – FEM 1Am to 3m, ISO M4 to M6 for standard hoists, heavier groups on request – or the CMAA and AS 1418 classes of your project.

Hoists you can specify line by line
WS wire rope hoists cover 1 to 50 t with 2/1 and 4/1 reeving, two speeds or inverter control, hook travel up to 80 m and versions for normal headroom, low headroom, double-rail trolleys and fixed mounting. One code describes capacity, frame, hook travel, speed, reeving, mounting, electrics, trolley speed and climate.

From girder to load test
Built-up box girders are welded and inspected in the same plant as our structural steel – see built-up members – then fitted with end carriages, trolley, hoist and electrics and function-tested before shipping.
On site we check the runway, erect and align the crane and carry out static and dynamic load tests with the inspection authority before handover.

Single or double girder – which do I need?
Single girder cranes are economical up to about 20 t and moderate spans. Double girder cranes suit heavier loads, longer spans, higher duty and maximum hook height, and give a walkway for maintenance.
Can you supply the crane together with the building?
Yes – that is our strength. World Steel designs the crane, runway beams and steel building together, so wheel loads, deflections and clearances are coordinated from the start.
Which standards do you design to?
TCVN 4244 and QCVN 07 in Vietnam, CMAA and ASME B30 in the US, AS 1418 in Australia and EN 15011 / EN 14492-2 in Europe, with the duty group of FEM 9.511 or ISO 4301.
Are the cranes load-tested?
Every crane is function-tested in the factory and load-tested on site – static and dynamic tests to the applicable code – with the inspection authority where required.
Do you provide maintenance and spare parts?
Yes – inspection, maintenance, repair, upgrades such as inverters or radio control, and spare parts including panels, pendants, motors, conductor rails and wheels.
