POSCO Yamato Vina
Electric-arc-furnace steelmaker in Phu My, Vietnam, owned by POSCO and Yamato Kogyo, producing hot-rolled H-beams, channels, angles and sheet piles.
POSCO Yamato Vina Steel JSC is a joint venture of South Korea's POSCO group and Japan's Yamato Kogyo, operating an electric arc furnace steel plant and section rolling mill in the Phu My II Industrial Zone in Ba Ria – Vung Tau. The plant produces semi-finished billets and blooms and finished long products, including H-beams, channels, angles and steel sheet piles, for the Vietnamese and export markets.
Hot-rolled sections complement the welded built-up members that dominate pre-engineered buildings. In a PEB, prismatic H-sections are often used where a constant section is economical: endwall columns and rafters of bearing-frame endwalls, mezzanine beams and columns, crane runway beams for light and moderate cranes, canopy members, platform and equipment structures. Angles and channels are used for bracing, door and opening framing, and miscellaneous steel. Because rolled sections are made to dimensional standards, they need less fabrication than built-up members, but their sizes are fixed, so the designer selects the lightest section that satisfies strength, stability and deflection. As with plate, the steel grade must be checked against the design code and mill certificates for each project.
PEB および鋼構造に使用される製品
- H-beams (wide-flange sections) – mezzanine beams, endwall columns, crane runway beams
- Channels – framing for openings, struts and secondary steel
- Angles – bracing, flange braces and connection cleats
- Steel sheet piles – retaining and foundation works
