Steel structures for Japan
World Steel fabricates structural steel for Japanese projects using JIS materials and working to Japanese architectural specifications with the client's design office.
Steel buildings in Japan are governed by the Building Standard Law, designed to Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) standards and fabricated to JASS 6. Materials are specified to JIS – SS400, SM490 and the SN grades for building structures – and friction-grip connections use F10T or torque-shear high-strength bolts.
For buildings under the Building Standard Law, the steel fabrication plant's performance grade (S, H, M, R or J) can be required depending on building size and steel grades. World Steel coordinates these requirements with the Japanese design office and main contractor at tender stage.
Japan and Vietnam trade under VJEPA, AJCEP, CPTPP and RCEP; shipments reach Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka and Kobe on short sea routes from Ho Chi Minh City.
