Cat Tuong insulation

Cat Tuong is a Vietnamese manufacturer of heat and sound insulation materials. Its plant is located in Lien Hung Industrial Park in Long An province, and its products are sold in Vietnam and exported. The company is known for reflective air-bubble foil insulation (túi khí cách nhiệt), used under metal roofs, tile roofs and in walls to reduce heat gain in factories and houses.

Reflective air-bubble foil insulation consists of one or two layers of polyethylene air bubbles laminated with aluminium foil. Under a metal roof, the low-emissivity foil reduces radiant heat transfer from the hot roof sheet to the space below, while the bubble layer adds a modest thermal resistance. In hot climates such as Vietnam it is widely used in factories and warehouses as a low-cost alternative or complement to glass wool, and it also acts as a vapour retarder that helps reduce condensation drips from the roof. Performance depends on maintaining an air gap next to the reflective face and on correct lapping and taping of joints. For projects with defined thermal resistance or fire classification requirements, test data should be checked against the specification.
