Overview
About Stone wool sandwich roof panels
Roof panels with stone wool cores are used where the building code, the fire engineer or the insurer limits combustible roof materials.
Fire resistance of roofs is tested to EN 1365-2 and classified under EN 13501-2; external fire performance of roofs is a separate test (EN 13501-5). Results apply to the tested span, fixings and supports.
Spans and purlin spacing come from the manufacturer’s load tables for the selected panel thickness.
Key benefits
- Non-combustible insulation in the roof
- Supports insurer and code requirements
- Thermal and rain-noise performance
- Spans between purlins of the steel frame

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why choose stone wool rather than PIR or EPS roof panels?
Stone wool is non-combustible, so it does not feed a fire or drip; it is often required by insurers or codes for larger industrial roofs. PIR and EPS panels have their own classifications and limits.
Is this product certified?
Certification belongs to a specific manufacturer’s product or tested system. We supply the test report, classification or listing accepted in your market for the product selected – it is confirmed per project, never assumed.
