Overview
About Smoke curtains
Smoke barriers limit the spread of smoke under the roof so that smoke exhaust systems can work; they are part of the smoke control strategy set by the fire engineer.
Smoke curtains are tested and classified to EN 12101-1 (classes D and DH for fixed and automatic barriers); in North America smoke control follows NFPA 92 and barrier leakage UL 1784.
Automatic versions deploy on the fire-alarm signal and fail safe by gravity.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does a smoke curtain stop fire?
No – it limits smoke spread. Fire separation needs a fire-rated wall, door, shutter or fire curtain.

Certification belongs to a specific manufacturer’s product or tested system. We supply the test report, classification or listing accepted in your market for the product selected – it is confirmed per project, never assumed.
