Overview
About Fire-resistant insulation blankets and duct wraps
Fire-resistant duct wraps are tested on the duct type and size they protect: EN 1366-1 for ventilation ducts (classified under EN 13501-3), UL 2221 / ASTM E2336 for grease duct enclosures and AS 1530.4 in Australia.
Layer count, overlaps, pins, bands and penetration details through walls and floors are defined by the tested system.
A non-combustible blanket alone does not make a duct fire-rated – the tested system does.
Key benefits
- Fire-rates ductwork without builders’ work shafts
- Thin, light wrap systems
- Grease-duct versions for kitchens
- Tested penetration details

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is a mineral wool blanket enough to fire-rate a duct?
Only within a tested wrap system for that duct type – the number of layers, fixings and penetration details matter.
Is this product certified?
Certification belongs to a specific manufacturer’s product or tested system. We supply the test report, classification or listing accepted in your market for the product selected – it is confirmed per project, never assumed.
One partner for structure and envelope
Send us your drawings or bill of quantities – we quote the steel, insulation, boards and ceilings together and ship them as one package.
