CIP
Carriage and Insurance Paid To
As CPT, plus the seller insures the cargo – all-risks cover is required.
How World Steel delivers CIP
Containerised and multimodal shipments with ICC (A) all-risks cover for 110 % of the invoice value.
- Delivery
- To the first carrier at the place of shipment.
- Risk passes
- When the goods are handed to the first carrier.
- Costs
- The seller pays carriage and all-risks insurance to the named destination.
- Best for
- The container alternative to CIF, with stronger insurance cover.
- Watch out
- Insurance must be ICC (A) unless the contract says otherwise.
- New in 2020
- 2020: the minimum insurance under CIP rose from ICC (C) to ICC (A).
