The seller delivers export-cleared goods alongside the buyer's vessel at the named port of shipment.

How World Steel delivers FAS

For break-bulk and project cargo – long girders, trusses, modules – alongside the vessel at Ho Chi Minh City or Cai Mep–Thi Vai, by arrangement.

Delivery: Alongside the vessel (on the quay or a barge) at the named port of shipment.
Risk passes: When the goods are placed alongside the ship.
Costs: The seller pays to the quay including export clearance; the buyer pays loading on board and freight.
Best for: Charter vessels and project cargo loaded by the buyer's stevedores.
Watch out: Sea and inland waterway only; not suitable for containers.

Always state the rule, a precise named place and the version, e.g. “FAS Ho Chi Minh City, Incoterms® 2020”.
