How World Steel delivers FOB

Our most frequently quoted term for buyers with their own forwarder: FOB Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai / Hiep Phuoc) or FOB Cai Mep–Thi Vai – break-bulk, flat racks, open-tops and standard containers.

Delivery
On board the buyer's vessel at the named port of shipment.
Risk passes
When the goods are on board the vessel.
Costs
The seller pays until the goods are on board, including export clearance and origin terminal handling; the buyer pays the freight.
Best for
Break-bulk and conventional sea freight where the buyer books the vessel.
Watch out
For containers handed over at a terminal, risk can pass before loading in practice – ICC recommends FCA; we accept both.

Always state the rule, a precise named place and the version, e.g. “FOB Ho Chi Minh City, Incoterms® 2020”.

Incoterms® is a registered trademark of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This page summarises the Incoterms® 2020 rules for orientation only – the ICC text and the sales contract govern. Always state the rule, the named place and “Incoterms® 2020”.
